Christmas Memories- Part 1

What a wonderful Christmas we had! It was five straight days of great celebrations with our families. Evie really loved Christmas this year- she totally got into opening gifts and is just thrilled to have all these new toys! A la my normal style there is picture overload! Sit back, get a big cup of coffee, and enjoy!

Playtime, Cookies and Snow

It's been a busy December here in our home. We've been taking lots of time to play and enjoy the season though! Evie has been learning SO much in the last few weeks, I am totally amazed at all the words she knows now. She has also taken up the habit of dragging you by the hand to exactly what she wants to show you. (Cute, but makes it hard to do anything of my own!) She's quite a live wire and always has silly ideas.

She has totally fallen in love with "Shrek"! She asks to watch this movie every single day. Here she's relaxing against daddy's pillow while it is playing.

She loves bathtime, and lately running around naked after bathtime...

Today it is snowing buckets!! We have about 8 inches so far and more yet to come. Here's the view out our window around 10am this morning:

and thanks to all that pretty snow I got to have the day off work! Whoo Hoo! Which gave Evie and I the chance to decorate our cutout Christmas cookies. She did great with them

well... she did great until she got ahold of the sugar shaker and dumped it all out... Oops. Then she had a fantastic time playing with it and trying to put it back in. Ah, just another mess... I didn't really mind.

Pretty good job on the decorating, right?

The Christmas prep continues

Evie and I finished the decorations today- the Christmas Tree!! I put it up during her nap and she was SO excited to see it when she woke up. She thought it was pretty cool that I let her hang some of the decorations (of course the bottom half of the tree is all the non-breakables!)

(The ducky she's holding.... she totally stole that off the tree and has declared that it is "Evie's duck." He will now be her personal property. Silly girl!)

More dancing to the snowman music- she loves that thing!

Daddy showed her the mouse house (one of his old ornaments from childhood). She kept saying "Night-night, Mouse" since the mouse is laying in his bed. Too cute!

SNOW! We're getting a snow storm tonight- 3 inches by dinnertime and plenty more forecasted through tomorrow evening. She loved making little snow balls.

And I made us our first snowman! (Too bad he has already fallen over!)

Getting in the mood

Yay! It's officially Christmas time! I'm such a fan of the holiday season- I'll be in the Christmas mood 24/7 for the next month- just love it!
This year I had a little elf who enjoyed helping me decorate the house. It's so fun to have her take part in the fun this year! We set up the house decorations tonight, tomorrow we'll do the tree!

She liked putting Baby Jesus in his "house"- here she's helping one of the wise men find his place. :)

Trees! She really liked helping set out my Christmas village and trees

The dancing snowmen from Hallmark were a hit last year too- she loved dancing to their music this year! I have a feeling I'll be hearing this song a lot!

Hat! She loves a hat of any type... the santa hat is no exception!

And she is totally loving the "big star" in the window now- such a precious moment!
